Chances are unless you're a Ranger, Warrior, Sin, Derv, or Ele you're going to need to use your secondary in your running build.
AKA think of your own using one of those secondaries.

i don't normally chest run, but i noticed a lot of easy chests at ice cliff chasms in eye of the north. see attachment.
shadow form or spellbreaker is recommended (snares), and something to counter knockdowns (signet of judgement).
yellow dots = common chest locations
blue dots = less common/possible chest locations

Could anyone tell me about an effective chest run for onyx gemstones in GWEN? I know it's from dungeons but I have no clue which one is the best when you compare speed/run and #chests/run... If build matters I am playing an ele.

Well, perhaps I could do my share to the thread. A chestrun build I used nearly a year ago in Melandru's Hope.
Build:
Mo/A
12+1+1(I used minor, you can use major/superior) Divine favor
12 Shadow
Skills:
Dash
Dark Escape
Shadow Of Haste
Mending Touch
Spell Breaker
Holy Veil
Contemplation of Purity
Feigned Neutrality
You can maybe use shadowform too, i just were happy with SB + Kephkets refuge with +20% enchants and 20% faster recharge. Also totemaxe or any +20% enchant works well with SB.
So, run happens in Melandru's Hope, you leave from Jade Flats (Kurzick) and this run is for NM Aka normalmode.
I runned with dash + dark escape just straight and down the stairs, I will provide a map later. Check if there is chests on rit boss, if there is use shadow of haste and spell breaker, go to chest, open, pick loot and dash away.
Continue running in the water to the assasin boss and if there is chest, rinse and repeat what you did on rit boss.
Then you continue to the dredge area, up the hill look for any chests and open them, those are pretty easy ones. On the dredge area I suggest to not use SoH because they use wild blow.
Continue running thru dredge areas (check map later for 100% info) and then over the bridge and pass the byzzr wingmender and other mobs. The run ends at the dredge corner.
There are at maximum 5 chests in the area. Most times 5, sometimes only 4 or even 3. Good drops are single & dual gothic axes, gothic defenders and gothic swords and some amber rubbish etc.

i got R5 Dwarven thingy
Great Dwarven Armor
Dwarven Stabilty
Dash
Dark Escape

Arcane Echo->Echo->Dash->Arcaned Echo-ed Echo->Echo-ed Dash->Dash
Get a hero and Arcane Mimicry for overkill.

you'll spend more time casting echo and archane echo than actually running with dash... so its rather pointless

Hi!My new running build using GW:EN skills:
A/R
Deadly Paradox
Shadow Form
Death's Charge(can be replaced depending on the area you are running)
Shadow Refuge
Dwarven Stability(if rank 5 or higher or your energy wont support it)(Dwarf skill)
Natural Stride
Dash
Shadow of haste(good for when chests are off-way)
ATT:
Shadow Arts : 12+1+3(16)
Wilderness Survival : 12
Deadly Paradox : 3(no need to add minor rune)
Set:any staff with +20%enchantments , insightful +5 head , hale and hearthy inscription
I use this mainly on Poisoned Outcrops but works everywhere.Used it alot to go exploring and reaching Outposts/towns.
If your experiencing lots of Knockdowns just take out Death's Charge and put "I am Unstoppable"(Norn Skill) in.
BTW I wasnt clear enough, this build can be used and was tested exhautingly on:
-Boreas Seabed(luxon chests) NM and HM
-Poisoned outcrops(ancient elona chests) NM and HM
-Ring of fire(dark root(?!?) chests) NM , not tested HM
-Hell's Precipice (dark root (?!?) chests) NM , cant be used on HM but still need to test more, just gave it a few tries
Hope it helped all sin runners out there since sin FTW on CR

Actually using dwarven stability at rank 5+ with echo u can run 20 secs straight forward with dash , recast 1 sec echo for 20secs more.
Problem is , imo , that the lack of shadow form or spell breaker will render the build useless.

Anyone that has tested that EotN chest run, can you say if there are any good drops that you have gotten? Also, which place is the best to chest run?

Dragon Scythes drop anywhere in the Echoval Forest so they're not easy to pin point although I did get a piar from farming Dragon Moss in hard mode. Crappy ones nonetheless.
Celestial and Salient daggers come from chest in amongst the Vermin in Xaquang Skyway. See this post:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...4&postcount=77
Oni Daggers also come from Luxon and Kurzick chests as well as Raisu 'Forbidden' chests.
